PvE Single hit Dmg
i wasnt sure where to put this so im guessing here since it i am also sharing my build...
I am running an experiment for fun right now. Im trying to see what is the HIGHEST amoung of dmg i can get in one single hit. This can only occur through a normal attack that is supplimented by enchants, preperations, etc. The attack can NOT be a spell, the base dmg MUST come from the characters weapon. So i am eager to hear about other people's experiements!
I have been testing on the the lvl 3 & 4 Shatter Gargoyles right outside of Ascalon. They seem to be susceptable to either lightning or fire. But my experiements with my ranger/elementalist have produced some nice numbers!
KEEP IN MIND THIS IS PURELY FOR FUN.
My setup is as follows::
R/E lvl 20
Using::
max dmg lighting dmg bow. +11%dmg^50 (plus) +20%dmg customized.
Attributes::
Air:: 8
Beast Mastery:4/5
Expertise: 7 + 1
Wilderness: 9 + 1
Marksmanship: 10 + 1 + 1
(points can be taken away from expertise and BM for even more dmg!!)
Skills:
1. Conjure Lighting
2. Kindle Arrows
3. Dual Shot
(only skills used)
ALL of this has produced the following numbers vs the lvl 3 & 4 Shatter Gargoyles:: 71 dmg (Normal Attack) <> 188 dmg (normal attk + Conjure Lightning + Kindle Arrows) <> 262 dmg (Dual Shot + Conjure Lightning + Kindle Arrows)
That last group still counts as none spell attk. Dual shot using base dmg + the conjure and kindle. Pretty nice dmg eh? right now im thinking of a way to apply to pvp and pve in general. So since i have points in air, i could use Whirlwind and Shock for defense and dmg spells, both of which knock the targets down. maybe ill add to this later once i have tested for pvp.
comments, questions, flames? all welcome. Again this initial experiement was just for fun, so dont think practical application...YET... lol

i dont have a warrior, but i would think a warrior doing conjure + hundred blades would cause more damage, but who knows...

*sigh
i guess i was misunderstood, This is NOT FOR PRACTICAL APPLICATION for PvE OR for PvP. This is single dmg from one hit to ONE target. Not for Teams in PvE, its your single character (no one in your party) Vs any single foe in PvE. So that is why i chose the lowest lvl i could find with weakness to fire/lightning.
For those that are offering valid suggestions...
... Kindle arrows simply stacks seperate fire dmg on top of my attack and other enchants, doesnt it? Description says:: "For 24 seconds, your arrows deal an additional 3-20 fire damage." --> so does additional mean it must first do fire dmg? DOH. that means i can do even more dmg, ill try with a fire dmg bow and fire skills next...
Also, Hundred Blades hits target twice like dual shot, but with no dmg reduce, so that could work. ill test with my warrior too. its kewl to see 3 digit dmgs...hehe

Kindle arrows is a preparation that adds fire damage to your attack. It does not require that your bow do fire damage initially. Other than that small point to clear up for you.....I won't comment or derail you from your experiment.
Afterall you are exploring potentials you haven't learned yet. ENJOY experimenting ok

Make sure you give the undead mob a love tap first, to bring 'em under 50% hp.

Biggest damage I've done by myself on one shmuck outside Ascalon was an incomprehensible 372.
16 axe
10 curses
9 strength
Used Eviscerate {E} + Weaken Armor + Barbs on a devourer. I was using a stance zealous axe while in frenzy mode.

Actually, a fun experiment for me would be to try that on a monk in pvp after a teammate removed his stance/enchant...

Actually there is only one contender for this title - Grenth's balance.
Well, at least it was before they nerfed it slightly. I think I still have a screenshot somewhere of 483 single hit damage vs. Glint. (Fairly sure I got a 500+ from it once, but didn't catch it in the heat of battle.)

I also once did 372 dmg
I had a hammer, and I had judges insight on me (from me, I was a wammo at the time. I now greatly regret this and apologise to anyone who has found my noobly wammoness disturbing)
I attacked a hellhound (that's right, the lvl 16 one), who used FRENZY
372 dmg
Because I had only played the game for like 2 months I was still a noob and I didn't even have 16 hammer and 15 strength
To be honest, I think my hammer was 18-34 with the crappiest mods you've ever seen lol
Should test it with 16 hammer and 15 strength xD

Using an Icy bow with conjure frost, kindle arrows, favorable winds, and dual shot, I hit a shatter gargoyle for 105+105+14+14+10+10 which comes out to 258. I haven't tried any other combo's yet. And since you didn't mention it, I have hit a level 16 hellhound with my smiter for 464 damage with Bane Signet(not a spell, a signet)! He was using frenzy, so thats 2x damage, he is undead, so thats another 2x damage, and for some reason, I sometimes naturally hit for 2x damage. With 16 smiting, thats 58 base damage from Bane Signet. 2x2x2=8 58x8=464. Lets see if anyone can top that without a spell! :P

You might wanna try on plague devourers around ascalon they are weaker than gargoyles i think.
With a hammer you cant stack preps and spirits ontop of the damage, but with a +42 attack, vamp mod, crit hit, SoH/Conjure (each maxed, SoH @ 17 smite, conjure @19 from GoEP and +1 ele mod), [email protected] , 15 str 16 hammer and a +1 HM mod you would score something wicked, altho the chance of a +1HM and a crit kicking in at the same time are low and getting all the +1 mods on the chants to kick in also :P
Also a 20<50 hammer would be nice, it only applies to base dmg i think but as someone else mentioned, every little helps.
